Roberts Park is an idyllic addition to the purpose-built historic village of Saltaire, and was where Sir Titus Salt wanted his factory workers to relax and have fun at the weekend.
It’s changed very little since then, with the exception of a nearby skatepark and The Boathouse pub being added (Titus didn’t approve of pubs, hence a pub a bit further up the road called Don’t Tell Titus).
In the summer it’s busy every day, with cricket every weekend, and a cafe open sporadically, as well as bands on the bandstand. See, idyllic.
