The Treehouse

Back to the Alternative Guide

The first cafe ever to carry the Fairtrade trademark was this one, right here in Bradford, in 1994.

Since then, the volunteer-run Treehouse has been serving Fairtrade coffee and vegan food during the day, as well as hosting community events and gigs in the evenings.

What’s more, they also offer veg boxes, a shop full of ethical goodies, and the opportunity to join a food co-op (where lots of people pool together to order Fairtrade food in bulk to save money).
